Continuing professional education

A profession
is a practice of
continued learning.

In person, faculty led education for professionals who expect more from themselves and from their field.

Learning is not an accessory to professional life. It is the discipline that sustains it.

ACFP convenes serious fitness professionals for rigorous study, practical laboratories, and direct exchange with accomplished faculty. These are not content funnels disguised as education. They are places to think, practice, question, and return to work better prepared.

The College brings exercise science, coaching craft, ethics, leadership, health, human performance, and professional judgment into a single continuing curriculum. Certification may begin a career. Continuing education is what makes that career a profession.

Faculty-led applied movement assessment laboratory

Knowledge becomes judgment through examination and use.

Lectures establish the evidence. Laboratories test its application. Faculty conversations expose its limits. Collegial exchange reveals how other serious professionals solve the same difficult problems.

That combination cannot be replicated by pressing play on another forgettable video module.

Education worthy of the profession.

01

Faculty, not influencers

Programs are led by accomplished practitioners, scholars, clinicians, and professional educators selected for substance rather than reach.

02

Direct exchange

The difficult questions of practice deserve rooms where professionals can challenge ideas, examine judgment, and learn from one another.

03

Evidence with context

Research matters. So do limits, tradeoffs, client circumstances, and the disciplined judgment required to translate knowledge into action.

04

A permanent record

Every completed program becomes part of a member’s continuing education record and a visible history of professional development.

Seventeen rooms.
One profession.

One exceptional in person program every month through the end of 2027. Locations are selected to make the journey part of the experience.

Fitness professionals and faculty in conversation after an ACFP program
“The most valuable conversation may begin after the final session ends.”

ACFP programs are designed not only for instruction, but for the collegial relationships through which a profession develops its identity, standards, and future leaders.

The profession deserves faculty who have something worth saying.

ACFP welcomes proposals from scholars, clinicians, coaches, educators, and institutional leaders prepared to contribute serious work to the continuing development of fitness professionals.
